In the Goormachtig lab, we try to be involved in events about science and science communication to try and extend our outreach to people who might not come across our research otherwise.

The Flanders Technology & Innovation festival

The Flanders Technology & Innovation festival is an event celebrating the cutting edge of technological advancement and innovation in the Flanders region of Belgium. Bringing together industry leaders, tech enthusiasts, startups, and researchers, the festival showcases groundbreaking developments in various fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, sustainable energy, and digital transformation. Through a series of exhibitions, keynote speeches, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities, participants gain insights into the latest tech trends and their applications across different sectors.

Prof. Dr. Sofie Goormachtig was invited at the Ghent edition of the festival in 2023 to give an interview about Sustainable Feed & Food, which was broadcasted on the online radio platform "StudioShift".
