De Microcast

De Microcast is a Dutch podcast started by 5 PhD students from the Goormachtig lab in 2022. Arne, Joren, Naomi, Céline and Marjon wanted to share their passion for science and more specifically for micro-organisms with the world.

Each episode one or multiple micro-organisms with a macroscopic impact are discussed, ranging from the use of micro-organisms in medicine, waste processing or space travel to cute little tardigrades or the causative agents of Panama disease,
the plague and cholera. Each episode teaches the listener about the amazing world of micro-organisms in an informative, fun and light-hearted way.

There are currently 2 seasons available on different major podcasting platforms (such as Spotify and Google Podcasts) with a total of 34 episodes.
